Jessica Estevao writes the Change of Fortune Mysteries.  The first in the series, Whispers Beyond The Veil, will release in September 2016.  She loves the beach, mysterious happenings and all things good-naturedly paranormal.  While she lives for most of the year in New Hampshire with her dark and mysterious husband and exuberant children, she spends summers on the coast of Maine where she keeps an eye out for sea monsters and mermaids.

Review of Whispers Beyond The Veil

Review (4.5 Stars):  I was hooked from the very first page of this delightfully entertaining mystery. Ruby was a charming heroine who had a rough childhood after living with her deadbeat salesman father.  When tragedy strikes and Ruby is forced to flee, she makes her way to her estranged aunt, hoping for sanctuary and a chance for a new beginning.  What she finds is a home and family that has always wanted to protect her.  Now she must prevent her secret from coming out or everything she has dreamed of will fall apart in front of her.

This is the first book in a Change of Fortune mystery series and this novel is definitely a winner.  I loved Ruby and her aunt, Honoria and enjoyed learning more about spiritualism over the course of the mystery.  The storyline was well-written and very entertaining and I’m excited to see where the next mystery will take Ruby and her lovely aunt.
