Review of Wildcard

Review (4.5 Stars):  I absolutely loved Warcross and I’m always worried about the sequel not living up to its original but this book definitely doesn’t disappoint.  Emika is still reeling from the events of the Final Game of Warcross and learning the secrets behind the plans of Hideo’s new NeuroLink lenses that are being distributed to the entire world.  Unsure what to do, Emika makes a deal with the enemy, Zero, who is still hellbent on destroying Hideo’s NeuroLink algorithm and needs her to get close to Hideo to make the plan work.  With a race against time, Emika must decide to destroy the man that she loves or truly trust the man who will protect her at a price?

Wildcard was such a thrill-ride that I’m still breathless while writing this.  I loved Emika’s character and you could definitely seem the dilemma that she was in during the course of this story.  This book had so many twists and turns and I was so curious as to what happened to Zero that made him want to take down Hideo so badly after everything.  This book was a well-written adventure that I couldn’t get enough of and this story shows you why Ms. Lu is such a talented author.  I can’t wait to see what is next for her after finishing Wildcard.
