Review of The Darkest Promise

Review (5 Stars): Have I told you how much I love Gena Showalter’s books?  They are absolutely amazing and The Darkest Promise is a delightful addition to the Lords of the Underworld series.  We meet Cameo, who is the host for the Demon known as Misery, and she is on the hunt to find Lazarus to help her find her freedom.  She can’t experience any joy or love because the moment that she does, Misery will wipe her mind clean and she won’t remember anything of the experience.  Except she can’t get visions of one man out of her head and she believes that this man is the elusive Lazarus.

Lazarus is the king of the Underworld but he can’t find happiness either.  He is looking for the one woman that haunts his dreams and he believes that he will never happiness until he finds “the one.” Once he meets Cameo, all bets are off and their chemistry together is like nothing they have never seen before.  Together, they must face the dark forces that are trying to destroy them and Cameo is trying to protect her heart before she forgets Lazarus forever.

The Darkest Promise is a sexy, exciting story that was a delight to read.  I love Ms. Showalter’s books and each story can stand alone if you haven’t read the rest of the series.  I loved every minute of The Darkest Promise and everyone needs to read this book now.
