A woman on the run seeks sanctuary in a peaceful Pennsylvania Dutch community—and finds a protector in the most unlikely of men…

One moment Rachel Hartline is secure in her career and community. The next, she’s in the wrong place at the wrong time—watching her ex-husband commit a crime that puts her in unfathomable danger. Fear and hurt send her home to an Amish farm and the family she’s always trusted. But a private investigator is close behind—and he may be a threat to her in more ways than one…

Cold, calculating Clint Mordan isn’t convinced Rachel is as innocent in her ex-husband’s schemes as she claims, but when her ex’s enemies target Rachel, Clint is driven to keep her safe. Maybe the terror in her beautiful eyes and the target on her back aren’t an act. But as his feelings toward her deepen, Clint realizes he’s the only one who can keep Rachel alive in a game where only the killer knows the stakes.

Review of Shattered Silence

Review (4 Stars):  This was a very entertaining mystery that gave the reader a glimpse into the life of an Amish farm, which was very enjoyable.  Rachel’s ex-husband is always getting himself into trouble but when he copies a file from his boss’ computer and Rachel is a witness to this act, that puts her life in danger as someone is willing to kill to keep those files secret.  Rachel decides that the only place that she can truly be safe is going home to the Amish farm that she loved as a child.  The only person that can help Rachel out of this mess is a private investigator, Clint Mordan, who doesn’t believe that Rachel is as innocent as she seems but his feelings for Rachel make him want to protect her at all costs.

This is the first book that I’ve read from Ms. Perry and I loved the chemistry between Clint and Rachel.  I found Shattered Silence to be an entertaining mystery with so many twists and turns that I had no idea who Rachel should trust.  I loved the suspense and learning more about Amish life, which made this story very interesting to me.  Looking forward to reading more from Ms. Perry in the future.
