Tragedy sent Deidre “Drey” Hunter running from rancher Hawk Cahill and into the arms of a sleek businessman who promised her a new life. But dreams of Manhattan days and cosmopolitan nights shatter when he brings her back to an ultramodern paradise in her hometown of Gilt Edge—and vanishes on their wedding night.

Taunted by seclusion and silence, Drey starts to doubt everything…including her sanity. Only Hawk, the stubborn cowboy from her school days, believes the threats are real and that someone is ready to kill. But is he willing to forgive the past if it means ending her nightmare?

Review of A Rancher’s Dream

Review (4 Stars): A Rancher’s Dream was a suspenseful thrill-ride where you didn’t know who you could trust.  Drey was swept off her feet by the charming and ultra rich, Ethan Baxter, but things changed after their elaborate wedding.  Drey found that things weren’t what they seemed and Ethan disappeared without a word on their wedding night, leaving more questions than answers.  Now, Drey is doubting everything including her own sanity and her own life may be on the line if she doesn’t discover the truth behind her new husband.

This book was entertaining and filled with suspense, which reminded me of a new version of the story, Gaslight.  Ethan swept Drey off her feet but once they were married, he made decisions without consulting her and she kept feeling as though she was drugged most of the time.  The only person that could save her was her first love, Hawk, who had wished that he had found the courage to tell her how he really felt before she got married.  This story will keep you on the edge of your seat and I’ve decided that I want a Hawk of my own after the way he protected Drey from harm.
