Review of Kiss The Flame
Review (4.5 Stars): One of my favorite places that I’ve ever been was New Orleans and I absolutely loved the atmosphere of Kiss The Flame. Laney was such a great character who struggled for everything that she had in life including her scholarship to college. Never in a million years did she expect to be attracted to the teaching assistant in her Introduction to Art History course. Michael was attracted to Laney as well and wanted nothing more than to take their professional relationship to a more personal level but Laney’s past prevents her from making that first step. When she has a chance encounter with a man that offers her a gift that can help her get past her fear, will she finally take a chance on love?
I loved Kiss The Flame because I really connected with these two characters. Laney wanted so badly to have what she had always dreamed of but was afraid that if she failed, her past would come back to haunt her. Michael was the perfect guy for her and for any woman that was lucky to find someone like him. Smart, sweet, intelligent and was willing to risk everything to have a chance at love with Laney. This story had me from the beginning and I couldn’t wait to see what path Laney chose after everything that had happened. Mr. Rice has created such a wonderful and magical world in Kiss The Flame that I’m excited to read the other books that are also set in this world. Kiss The Flame is one of my top ten stories for this year and I can’t wait to read what is next for Mr. Rice.
