Review of Fixin’ To Die
Review (4.5 Stars): Fixin’ To Die was a hilarious, well-written mystery with entertaining characters and a touch of the paranormal that is sure to please. Sheriff Kenni Lowry has had zero crime in her sleepy little community for the last two years until the body of the town’s beloved doctor is discovered early one morning. She soon learns that the ghost of her deceased grandfather has been scaring off any potential criminals and he has offered to help solve this murder since her department is short a deputy. Kenni must now use the clues to find the killer fast or her re-election may not be the only thing she has to worry about.
I loved Sheriff Kenni and the residents of Cottonwood, KY!!! This mystery was delightfully entertaining and I can’t tell you how many times this book had me laughing out loud. I loved all the twists and turns in this mystery and I’m excited that this is the first book in a brand new series. Ms. Kappes is an amazing writer and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next to Kenni and her Poppa in the rest of the series.
