Just when Grace is beginning to get used to being an orphan, her estranged uncle suddenly comes forward to claim her. That might have been okay if he’d spoken to her even once since her father died. Or if moving in with Uncle Rusty didn’t mean returning to New Harbor.

Grace once spent the best summers of her life in New Harbor. Now the place just reminds her of all she’s lost: her best friend, her boyfriend and any memory of the night that changed her forever.

People say the truth will set you free, but Grace isn’t sure about that. Once she starts looking for it, the truth about that night is hard to find — and what happens when her healing hurts the people she cares about the most?

Review of The Leading Edge of Now

Review (4 Stars):  The Leading Edge of Now was an moving coming of age story that will stick with your long after the last page.  Grace is a great character that has to deal with the grief and loss of her father as well as what happened that fateful summer that changed everything.  I loved her strength as she picked up the pieces of her life and rebuilt her relationship with her uncle after everything that happened. Grace also had to deal with what happened with Owen over that summer and I wanted to hug her after learning the truth about that night.

The Leading Edge of Now was a great book that deals with a very difficult subject in a compelling and emotional way.  This book was a well-written emotional story that broke my heart at times and I almost didn’t want it to end. Ms. Curtis is a very talented author and I’m looking forward to seeing what she comes out with next.
