Review of Slow Burn Cowboy

Review (4 Stars): Slow Burn Cowboy was an emotionally-charged romance filled with heart-pounding chemistry that made this story a real page turner.  Finn Donnelly was preparing for his estranged brothers to visit Copper Ridge to get their inheritance after the death of their grandfather.  Finn has planned to offer each of them money to sign over their portion of the ranch and leave Finn to continue taking care of the land that he has always loved.  Never in a million years did he expect them to want to stay and build their lives on the ranch but that is exactly what each of them want to do.  Helping him through this process is Lane Jensen, the one person that he has always been able to turn to, as a friend.  But one moment changes everything and Lane plans to show him that true love has been standing in front of Finn all along.

Finn was very set in his ways from the very beginning.  He was used to his solitary life and working on the land that he has always loved but all that was about the change even though Finn wasn’t ready for it.  His brothers wanted a chance at a fresh start and by inheriting a piece of the ranch, it gave them that opportunity.  It also gave the Donnelly boys a chance to become a real family, something that each of them had been missing for so long.

For Finn, the only person that he had let into his life was his best friend, Lane, and even though he wanted things to go to the next step, he was never going to act on it.  Lane felt the same way and I loved how she decided to take matters in her own hands to change Finn’s mind about their current relationship.  She was a fun character that you would love to be friends with and I’m glad that she got Finn to see that love had always been there waiting for him.

Ms. Yates is one of my favorite writers and the Copper Ridge series is one of the best romantic series out today.  I loved all the characters in Slow Burn Cowboy and you can see that Ms. Yates is setting things up for the rest of the Donnelly clan to find their own happy endings in future books.  I can’t wait to see who finds love next and I hope I can take another trip to Copper Ridge very soon.
