Review of How to Forget a Duke
Review (4.5 Stars): How to Forget a Duke was a delightfully charming twist on the classic tale of Emma but with a little Bourne Identity to spice things up. Jacinda Bourne is a matchmaker determined to find a wife for The Duke of Rydstrom but she must figure out what the Duke is hiding before she can find the right woman for him. When her investigation leads to his crumbling estate and an accident causes her to wash up ashore with no memory of her identity, things start to get very interesting. Rydstrom will do whatever it takes to prevent Jacinda from remembering why she went to his crumbling estate in the first place but this causes sparks to fly as they spend more time with one another. Is Jacinda the woman that he has been looking for all along? Only time will tell but Jacinda gets closer to regaining her memory with every passing day.
I loved How to Forget a Duke because these characters were so amusing when they were around each other. Jacinda was a great heroine, who was determined to find out why Rydstrom really needed a wife and what secrets he was trying to hide from her. She was fun, smart and so very spunky when it came to verbally sparring with the Duke. I loved their chemistry and the amnesia aspect to the story was absolutely entertaining. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series and I’m adding Ms. Lorret to my preorder list.
