Review of Butter Off Dead
Review (5 Stars): What an amazing series! I absolutely love these characters and the charming community of Jewel Bay, Montana. Erin has her hands full with another murder mystery when the planning manager of the First Annual Food Lovers’ Film Festival is found shot dead in her home and her brother is the prime suspect for the crime. Now she must find the killer before it is too late and the curtain closes on this festival before it even begins.
Erin is one of my favorite heroines at the moment. She is spunky and fun, but definitely can handle herself in any situation. This mystery was great for me because I love movies and this book just reminded me so much of my childhood where Saturday afternoons were spent at the matinee with my family. So many great memories and this book was an absolute delight. The mystery in Butter Off Dead was complex and very entertaining and I loved having a hard time figuring out the killer before Erin did. Always a winner in my book.
Ms. Budewitz is one of my favorite mystery writers and I’m always amazed at all the plot twists that are laced throughout each of her novels. This is the third book in the Food Lovers’ Village mystery series and I suggest that you start with the first book, Death al Dente, so you can meet these delightful characters from the very beginning. Every mystery in the series is very entertaining and you will definitely enjoy the time that you spend in this wonderful community.
